Shaydee has all it takes to become a bigger, influential and commercially successful star. And his exit from EME means that he has no excuse to not be great.
Shaydee is done with his recording deal from Empire Mates Entertainment (EME). The singer is no longer in business with Banky W and the structures at EME.
Shaydee was signed to EME in 2012 and has had a good run with the record label so far.
Shaydee
featured on The compilation album - Empire Mates State of Mind released
in 2012, which had Banky W, Skales, Wizkid, Niyola and Dj Exclusive.
Then dropped his debut album " Rhythm and Life" in 2016.
Many
would argue with me if he has truly had a good run. And they can’t be
blamed. Shaydee was in the same label as Wizkid and Skales. The former
has created a path of success that is so exemplary, that everything
pales. Starboy was once his label-mate.
Skales on his part was dropped by the label after his
contract ran out, and he has transformed a desperate situation into a
successful one by dropping hit singles, and growing his brand. Heck, he
put out his debut album away from EME.
Shaydee’s
fortunes cannot truly be said to have hit either heights set by his
peers. And it is insanely frustrating for music lovers. The is extremely
talented. He writes the best songs, utilizing powerful imagery and a
flair for romantic poetry to create powerful songwriting. Try to read
Shaydee’s lyrics on a website, without a tune playing, and you would be
astounded at the level of relatable depth and creativity that shines
forth.
And then there’s that voice. Shaydee’s
vocals are some of the greatest in the culture. It can be smooth when he
croons, and powerful when the beat drops hard. He uses his voice like
the lead instrument that it is, rather than just an accessory to the
beat.
In 2016, his “Rhythm & Life” album was pretty good, but a lack of attention towards his career prevented it from making a huge impact.
EME
on their part have supported him with investment into his career. The
alliance between Shaydee and the company provided some highlights that
will be cherished by the singer. His gratitude to Banky W is profound,
and he captured it on Instagram.
“Thanks for
all I’ve learned from you, and thanks for the opportunity you gave me to
find my path in life as I continue on this incredible journey on my
own.” He wrote on Banky W’s birthday.
Now
that he is out, there’s expectation that he would begin the long arduous
journey to truly becoming the great artist that he deserves to be. His
fans want that, he wants that, everybody wants that.
According to his
manager – Michael Umoru of Gidi Groove – the focus is on new content,
new materials, and a new vibe. It has to be right for Shaydee.
“It
was the most mutual agreement ever. His contract was up, he had done
his time, so everybody moved on. I am more excited about his new
content, and his plans for the future. We will update you with
everything.”
Everyone who has left EME has
gone on to be better at everything. It’s like a finishing school for
artists to go achieve greater heights.
Shaydee has
all it takes to become a bigger, influential and commercially
successful star. And his exit from EME means that he has no excuse to
not be great.
The “Rhythm and Life” crooner gave the hint on Instagram as he wished his former boss Banky W a Happy Birthday.
Shaydee wrote thus;
Shaydee wrote thus;
"Happy birthday Bankssss @bankywellington … May Gods great
favour and grace be with u.. Thanks for all iv learnt from u &
thanks for the opportunity u gave me to find my path in life as I
continue on this incredible journey on my own.. May God reward u
accordingly a thousand fold. Amen #BigbroStill #RidingSolo"
It is easily deduced that the singer has gone indie from the post
especially highlighting it with hash tags #BigbroStill #RidingSolo.
On the flip side, the split is on mutual agreement as Banky W responded to his post and also wished him well.
“Thanks bro. Much luv always. Open doors to you forever”
